“Green Workshop on green skills in the Mediterranean: Education and research for renewable energy“

The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESRS) (Algeria) and international partners, is organising a workshop on integrating green skills in higher education and research for renewable energy in Algiers on 13-14 June 2024. The workshop aims to strengthen sustainable thinking and promote a "just transition" through innovations in higher education and research. It will address technical green skills and cross-cutting skills necessary for sustainable development, including the analysis of policy discourse. The workshop targets the academic world, industry, political actors, and civil society organisations, offering a platform for interaction and dialogue to develop solutions and forge partnerships. Participants will perform preparatory work before the workshop and group exercises, leading to case presentations. Participation in the workshop is free, but spaces are limited. The workshop benefits from technical assistance provided by UfM, the European Training Foundation (ETF) and Paeradigms. Additionally, thanks to GIZ's support, a limited number of travel and accommodation sponsorships are available to participants from non-EU UfM Member States outside of Algeria.
