In the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria and the Ministry of University and Scientific Research of the Italian Republic, aimed at enhancing and deepening scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries, a joint call for research project proposals was launched on September 30, 2024.

This call aims to fund scientific and technological research projects, with particular importance given to the mobility of professors and researchers, the utilization of research infrastructures, and the strengthening of ecological innovation systems.

The accepted topics for this call include the following fields: Nutrition, Energy Security, Agricultural Technologies, Water Management, Blue Skills, and the protection of the Mediterranean Sea.

Following the verification phase for meeting the admission conditions, which was conducted according to the outlined eligibility criteria, and after the scientific evaluation jointly carried out by the two ministries, 06 projects were selected for funding out of 99 submitted proposals.

The Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Italian Ministry of University and Scientific Research expressed their sincere gratitude to all applicants for the quality of the submitted files and their contribution to the scientific and technological influence of both countries. The wide and committed participation from researchers and institutions highlights the significant interest in developing a strong and lasting bilateral cooperation.

In this context, the two ministries extend their congratulations to the principal investigators of the accepted projects and encourage all candidates to continue their commitment and participate in future joint calls for project proposals.
